rand0m_hero Wrote:OK heres the scenario.
42' widescreen
xbmc running Auriga
movie that is 1080p with a resolution of 1920x1080
Currently I can view the entire movie completely full screen in media player classic and all I had to do was change either the override under pan/scan to force 16:9 to make it full screen with no black bars. Load it up in xbmc and it will actually downsize it if the resolution mode is set to auto(found this not only in this skin but others also)
So im sure theres other people out there with full 1080p encodes they want to view and dont want it to look like a dvd when doing playback. Is there a simple fix or an easy way to force it to pop to fullscreen? I have been through and through with the OSD but it doesnt change the movie to fullscreen just adjusts the program and how its being viewed mostly.
OK, let's start over...
What resolution are you running your PC at? (and incidentally how are you determining this?).
What resolution is your display (if it's a TV, there's a reasonable chance you're NOT running at 1080, but somewhere around the 720 mark)?
The video file (at 1080p as you say), can only be displayed at FULL resolution if your TV/Screen is up to it AND your PC is setup to be running at that resolution (otherwise it will be downscaled... simply to fit the resolution you're running at).
If you know all this already, apologies for the simplicity.... that said, there are many many people who have 'HD' TV and are running at 720p, or even less... HD is not always 1080p, regardless of the video file being played back!
We will help you with the issue... but before you lose faith... XBMC is capable of 1080p playback so don't panic. Any failure to do so will be a configuration issue, or PC capability problem, not XBMC :-)
