Does Kai really need to be running on my PC?
#1
i go into kai and get it to tell me to run the game then i got back to my files and get halo 2 running straight from xbmc and then i go into system link and no games come up. do i need kai running on my computer for this service to work or if my xbox itself is on the internet can i just run it without my computer on or what? i was under the impression this new version is independant from the pc.

you need a computer. and you will probobly always need a computer.

the second you leave xbmc and the game starts the computer have to take over and guide your system link game to the right person over the net.

it's been answered alot of times already. why can't every one just get it.

a quick layout of system link games.
case 1: 2 xbox with 1 cable in the same room.

xbox 1 -> lan cable -> xbox 2

no problem there . this is how sytem link games are meant to be played.

case 2: the clever folks over att xbc and xlink thinks. hey can't a computer be but in there and relay the system link to another person on the internet instead?

xbox 1 -> pc -> i-net -> pc -> xbox 2

now xbox 1 sees xbox 2 and viseversa. and thinks that it's just a normal lan cabel between them.

i hope this explains how things work once and for all.
