Hi,

This pertains to you if you used the xTv skin WITH THE INTRO VIDEO!

When you change the skin to something else, XBMC starts and because of the new config file, 2 files attempt to play. The start sound and the intro video. This causes XBMC to freeze.

Now to fix it:

1. Turn off your XBOX

2. Unplug the Ethernet cable from the back of the XBOX

3. Turn on the XBOX

4. It should boot as normal, without freezing

5. Go onto your computer and turn on your FTP client

6. Open up Q

7. Open the "skin" folder

8. Go into the new skin you just installed, that's causing the problem

9. Click the "sounds" folder

10. Delete the file "start.wav"

11. Now restart your XBOX

12. It should work as normal now, and you still get to see the dazzling xtv Intro video!


Note: You must delete start.wav for every new skin you install

i had the "dazzling" xtv intro on my xbox and after a week i deleted the
annoying thing !!

The novelty wears off pretty quickly.

May I ask how you deleted it?

Did you just delete the video file?

or did you overwrite the modified files with the originals, that told XBMC to play the intro video at startup?

i was using a script that triggered the intro.avi to play on each start up.

deleted the script and the intro.avi

I was too scared to do anything, then I realized: I can just delete the whole XBMC folder, and reinstall it! It worked great.
