stuck at the main screen?
#1
hi,

need some help. i just started trying out the cvs versions. compiled and transferred to the xbox, launched xbmc from evo. the main screen comes up but can't seem to do anything else. no controls work but the pumpkin in the top-right corner still spins.

i've run the 12-11-03 version without problems. tried clean re-installs, removed 0face008, etc, without success.

thanks.

you are probably using an old xdk where the controller/remote do not work. you'll need to use a new xdk version.

yeah, it is..

weird.. not sure why it does not work for you then. did you copy keymap.xml as well?

you should have default.xbe, keymal.xml, filezilla server.xml, xboxmediacenter.xml in your root dir.

also, did you compile in debug mode or release mode?

you'll have to provide as many details as possible so we can help.

compiled "release xbox" mode.

hmm... didn't copy keymap.xml or filezillaserver.xml as the readme file didn't mention them. will copy them over and test again.

yes! it works now! thanks for the excellent advice, ts! perhaps the readme file should be updated to include those 2 files?

maybe.. or take a peak at the included build script (it will give you an idea of what is packaged up for the binary that gets released).
