i have xbox media center - build nov 23 2003 ,
the problem is when i try to play video or view picture on my f: partition it sees it and lets me go there, but when i click on a folder within the partiton it comes up saying 'cannot access remote share' or something similar.
problem is it's not a remote share it's on the local hard disk.
as soon as i put a network cable in the xbox and connect it to my pc even when booting it then works..
it seems it needs to detect a link before it will do anything..

please help

this is a bug. same happens to me. sometimes it tells me that there is "no cd in the drive" on random folders and shares too.

moved to the "bugs".

i found that having a network cable plugged into the xbox, even with nothing hooked to the other end, solved the problem.
