I really like the sound of this but I must be doing something very stupid as I simply can't get it to install.

Downloaded the .zip from github, which then turns itself into a folder. When I try and install from zip via xbmc, there's no zip to be seen. I tried just adding it to library/applications support/xbmc/addons but again no joy. Should I have renamed the folder and if so to what? This has been necessary with some addons in the past, so not entirely unexpected.

Running Dharma RC2, on a PPC G5 PowerMac with Snow Leopard.

Perfectly prepared to believe I've made a fundamental error, but can't see where.

Only 2 movies seem to have a problem, both are named and dated correctly in my xbmc library:

• TRON (1982) is showing up as Tron Legacy (2010). (Seems to be fixed by renaming the title to Tron)
  
• The Visitor (2008) is showing up as Les visiteurs (1993).

Website related, I added an avatar, but the dimensions are being forced out of the images aspect ratio.

@d1ddyp0p: The missing cover arts ones seem fine, they also don't have at TMDb. You can add the image at TMDb and then click the "Refresh Info" on the movie page to get the image. The ideas for an alternate scraper... any reason why to not upload the data to TMDb? The site can pull and refresh info from there in case covers or movies are missing from your library. As for file naming, what matters is that XBMC makes the match when you scan into your library, because I send what XBMC recognizes as the title/year to the site. Glad to hear it's working well!

@falafael: Are the missing movies scanned into your library? Please enable debugging from the addon's options, then send an update, and paste your log to pastebin. I'll take a look.

@psike: Yea, I wanted to get this out to make the Dharma release, so pushing hard now. Movie sets are not supported yet - this is a limitation of the new JSON-RPC interface provided by XBMC, last request for this feature was at http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=646...tcount=504 but not responded to yet. I'll keep watch on that topic. Those first 2 wrong images are fixed, that was a bug I had already fixed but missed those 2 wrong images. Beetle Juice is TMDb's fault (search returns the dupe rather than original, workaround is set to Beetlejuice in XBMC). Can you enable debug mode in the addon and then put the log on pastebin after triggering an update? I want to look more into exactly what's being sent with those comedy titles and that longer list of titles you posted. That list is very helpful and appreciated. Thanks.

If it's auto extracting, you should be able to zip it back up and then browse to that new zip with XBMC.

@mortstar: Seems TMDb related, I can't get the first search result to show "The Visitor" (2007) because of the alternative title set to the original. I haven't been completely happy with TMDb ignoring the year sometimes in search terms while the API says the year will be used, so I'll look into filing a bug with them. The avatars are forced into square dimensions, do you have a cropped version of it? I force them into squares to keep the layout uniform.

yes, i think most movies not showing now are either in sets or very obscure/foreign stuff. there are some listed under wrong titles, but i think xbmc picked them up wrong too and i just changed the title & nfo's manually in my system. (one comes to mind where i didn't understand why it picked up the wrong one "podium (2004)"... when i go to tmdb it's the first listed. sharethe.tv picks a 2007 version)

i made a tmdb account and have been adding some covers already. the refreshing works great now, and like it is now is more than enough for me.


EDIT: i looked again and here are some other movies that work on tmdb, but get picked up wrong on sharethetv.

How the related Movies works?
only need one genre like this message say:
"No related movies because there are no genres for this movie"
I think better system is needed there. maybe at least to have more then one genre in common.

"toy story" and "drag me to hell" should never be together.

For the most part it is working beautifully. I understand you're taking the information directly from XBMC.... however, if you're already hosting the website, you COULD create a scraper server for xbmc on the side.... one that would not change and cause other scrapers to not work...might be a bandwidth issue though. Are you saying if I update my information at home with tmdb it will show up in XBMC? Even if it is done manually by myself? (Custom cover art, etc...)

just wondered, since all my movies are already in the library, and movies that i add now only appear on the sited, would i need to do a full refresh of my library for all the movies to appear on the site?
I assumed it would automatically pick up whats already in the library!?

Nice idea which I should have though of myself.

Tried it on both Intel and PPC machine, got the "failed to install" error message both times. Shame as I really like this idea.
