after dicking around for the last 3 or 4 weeks, i finally got the latest cvs build to connect to my macintosh's samba server (macos x 10.2.8) ... still can't get xbmp to do it, oh well.
anyways, the problem that i'm having is that my media is stored on a somewhat slow external hard drive on my mac, and it seems that every couple of minutes while playing a file, be it an mp3, mpg, avi, wmv, whatever, it will pause for half a second or so, then resume playing.
i'm guessing this is a caching problem? any ideas on how to remedy this?
and one more thing. when i look at my samba log files, i see my xbox connecting to my mac as user "nobody" no matter what i set the login/password to. any ideas about that one?
oh, and as a feature request, can i suggest that the eol character in the xml files be such that i can edit them in notepad? :d
thanks,
