Yes, I've scanned the music to the library. Do I have to edit or create an aditional xml file?

The fanart is working on artist level. Go to artist in your library and than search for the beasty boys. Click on the info button and click get fanart

Ive pretty much have the genre icons and HD Fanart done ( from http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=797...tcount=210), but one major problem to me! I can only get it to work on Thumbnails, List and Wallstream , ie when i select Genre from Movies. those are my only 3 default. can someone tell me how to add a view ie the Halfwall2 and Fanart View. Once i figure out how to add these to the Genre list, adding the icons and fanart should be a quick mod. but i cant for the life of me figure out how to add the views for genre. and lol im tired of reading every thread to find what i need and my search string istn definitive enough to pull the thread i need. help me out please and then ill upload it with the genre icon adn HD back drops like everyone asked for! thanks

I wish I could help you, but unfortunately I don't know how . I just know how to do really basic modification in XML's files. But maybe DEV team can help you in sub-forum Skin Development they are really helpful ... sorry ...

@castortray , feel free to use any part of mine wherever you need it. i got rid of the side bar and the shade and moved my text to the left so and faded the content panels so i could maximize the fanart in the background on the home screen. i use my xbmc mod on a 55 LED TV so i made it the way i like. i made the TV Guide for Confluence for everyone to use!

i added different flags to my mod and im still working on the genre icons/ hd backdrops, just busy at work and life no time for my hobby yet this week ( xbmc)

Thanks this works great I only have one question.

I am trying to edit my submenu under Movies and TV shows like I usually do and I can't find the xml I am looking for...

So far I have deduced that to change submenu for the vertical menu edit the IncludesHomeVertical.xml

For the Horizontal one of course is IncludesHomeHorizontal.xml

But what about for the Horizontal with Alternate (below) submenu...

Also is there a way to make the submenu automatically be visible instead having to push down to make it appear.

One final suggestion...I already edited the ViewsVideoLibrary.xml so it shows the runtime left of the title in media info view instead of the IMDB user ranking score as I don't have much use for others opinion of the movies on my system but having the ability to see the length of a movie if I'm short on time (or it's close to little ones bedtime) is very useful...is that something that could be added as an option in the future.

do you mean tv tunes? i.e. theme music? then yes you need to put the mp3 in the parent folder of the show and not the season and name it "theme.mp3"

i got it fixed now, but i dont really liek the way it looks with the current views. have been playing around with a coupe veiws and different types of genre icons. the link you posted was nice, but they dont offer to many icons ffor too many genres. im looking into doing the icons like aeon65 or something like that. also when i am done with the views. i will make the genre icon and fanart background customizable for everyone. ie. folder "/genre" willbe wehre you put your icons and "/genre/genrefanart" will be your backdrops. that way if you dotn like the icons i settle on, you can choose your own .

I think I need to explain better...

The sub menu under movies typically has Title/Genre/Year/Actor/Director...

I create a playlist for my sons movies and everything else (don't need to see 15 wiggles dvd's when I am searching through my movies). In the past I have edited the home.xml and change "Year" to "Kids Movies" and by selecting it it displays the contents of that playlist.

I have successfully managed to accomplish this in the standard horizontal menu version (with vertically aligned submenu) by editing the IncludesHomeHorizontal.xml at the button 9016xx area of the xml, however for the Horizontal with Alternate submenu (submenu below main menu and running horizontal) I have not successfully figured out what I should edit.

I hope I am explaining this well enough where someone can understand my question and help me out.

@cruzannavy Will this be in the skin directory, or elsewhere, as I find when you update the skin it deletes everything in the skin directory & then re-installs the updated skin with the side effect that all the users collected art work gets deleted in the process.
