here's what i do, using a standard HP Windows media center remote as shown here --->
http://www.collectibles-articles.com/ant...48817.html
I have my remote setup so that when the "green button" in the center of the remote is pushed, windows media center is launched.
i use Eventghost (Windows Application) and mapped that keypress to send a command to "close xbmc" when pushed. So when i push the button, XBMC closes, then wmc launches... This allows the GPU and CPU to be fully allocated to wmc.
i then used eventghost to map the button '0' on the remote to "close wmc, wait 3 seconds, then launch XBMC"
i wouldn't bother with "launcher" addons and all that crap. Using eventghost is the best way.
this allows me to quickly switch between the two apps flawlessly with the push of a single button.
you can then configure eventghost and map away the rest of your buttons to your choosing.
Although the remote works out of the box for XBMC, i like to use eventghost to map things the way i want.
once PVR development takes off and is almost fully featured, i'll be eliminating the need to use wmc all together because i HATE windows media center.
All i have to do then is "deactivate windows media center" services so wmc does not launch when the green button is pushed. That way i can use the green button for what ever i want.
:-)
loggio.
