check out trakt.tv which does tv shows and more. I love sharethe.tv and use it all the time to show my friends my movies.
on another note:
I was wondering if a feature could be added for movie night voting. If the user could maybe pick 3-5 movies and then send an email out (invitation) for the movienight and have the invitees vote on the favorite movie to watch that night and sharethe.tv could keep track of the movies. Facebook integration would be great also to just vote on your favorite movie. Just some thoughts.

hey guys
this add-on looks pretty awesome but I got a problem.
1. I installed the add on via the repo
2. I created a account on the website
3. I activated the add on in the settings and entered my user/pass
-> on the website: No movies found.
Where is the problem? I enabled Autostart and did a reboot etc but nothing worked :-(
I'm running the XBMC (installed on hdd) Live Version
problem solved - dunno how

Facebook integration would be good, was something I used when I was using Boxee......
Re: trakt, I had a look at this but it didn't seem to have my entire collection only the individual eps I had watched, I really want something just like sharethe.tv but actually for tv (would have preferred the one website but oh well)

also is there a way to push an auto update to sharethe.tv remotely? I would like to be able to sync my movies for instance from my phone or from mediafrontpage... is this possible?

1- Do you have a donate button on you site?
2- Can you remove white border from avatar? (see mine: http://sharethe.tv/warpower)
3- Can you add one option on settings to let us choose a different default (different than name) "Sort By"?
4- Can you add a visit counter on our profile? (based on different ip addresses visits per day)
5- Do you have a public "To Do" list?
now maybe a stupid question...
6- Have you thought on a Client Server Side installation mode? (For instance if we kept all the data and web pages on our NAS/servers you'll improve your bandwidth and your server speed, don't you think?

Liked a lot the new interface and new features. The comparison feature is great, I'm using it to compare the movies I put in the XBMC I created for my sister's home. Also liked the search feature with the pictures... thanks for creating this add-on!
I have a doubt: I put XBMC in an ATV2 for my father's home using the latest nightly build due to its performance. But there I can't find the sharethe.tv add-on to install. Is it possible to manually install sharethe.tv from a zip file? Where can I find the zip file?

Hi,
with last nightly build I had this same problem. I had change to 10.1 and the missing add-on problems gone.
I think The author needs to submit it to the 'pre-Eden' addon repository
but I think that you can copy from your home to your father´s xbmc add-on folder and should work

I've now installed the ShareThe.TV on my Apple TV 2 and have registered on the website. I've configured the ShareTheTV plugin my my login details.
What do I have to do now to get this working
I have a share setup in Videos with a folder Structure of:-
Movies>720p
Movies>DVD/R5
Each movie is then in its own folder
Will ShareThe.TV see inside the folders??
Can someone please help - can someone please give me a step-by-step walk-through on how to install and configure this

I copied from iMAc XBMC the script.sharethetv folder located in XBMC/userdata/addon_data to the ATV2 in same folder, then restarted XBMC and the script worked!
After that I noticed that there's also a script.sharethetv-1.1.0.zip file in my iMac XBMC folder, I think would also work if I used that file.

No, sharethe.tv won't see inside those folders. You need to add these movies to the XBMC database: define this folder's content with the command Set Content > Movies > themoviedb, then XBMC will add automatically your movies to the database, may take more than an hour if have many movies there.
