Title says my problem. I get this stretched weird poster-image instead of my beautiful banner image. All of my shows have the following files:
banner.jpg (the one I want shown)
Season 01-0x folders
clearart.png
fanart.jpg
landscape.jpg
logo.png
poster.png (the one showing)
folder.jpg (same as poster.png)
season-specific tbn-files
tvshow.nfo
I want the banner.jpg to be shown in the BannerWall view ... How...? Thx in advance

go to skin settings and find the settings "use 'posters' instead of 'banners' for tvshow" and enable/disable it.

Then I just get this black image with the shows' name on it - my banner.jpg file doesn't show ....

it may also depends on how the show was scraped by xbmc.
I scraped with: prefer poster
My local files:
poster.jpg (maybe .png won't work)
banner.jpg
and i have the option 'use posters..' enabled and it shows fine in all views. Maybe BigNoid can shine some more light on this

To use banner.jpg the correct setting is to enable use posters for tv shows.
So it seems they are not loaded correctly. If they are in the root of your tv show there's nothing stopping the skin from showing them.
If they don't show it's probably network related or corrupt textures.db.
