which versions of visual studio and the xdk do i need and/or which are the best to compile and develop xbmc?
what if i can't get the latest versions, would it be enough with vc++ 6 and xdk 4627?
for vs 2003, do i need any processor/service/whatever packs?

you need vs.net 2003 and xdk 5558 to compile xbmc.

i had already read it, i'm sorry if you consider this as the same topic.
so, it seems it is not possible to set it up without the latest versions? if so, do i need any service pack for vs 2003?

no, you don't need any service packs.

you need exactly what hullebulle pointed out.

note that there is a newer version of the xdk that wouldn't hurt (56??)
