I'm sure what I'm looking for exists, I can't be the first one to look for this, but I'm apparently lacking the correct phrase or syntax to use when searching for it, so perhaps someone can make me smart as to what I'm looking for:

Our corporate office has a television in the lobby with a Kodi/OSMC build on a Raspberry Pi on it. It's been great for just throwing on CNN or the weather channel, or a series of images from a network drive, etc.
But I would like to create/find an addon that plays whatever video content (live streams, video playlist, whatever) in a smaller window, similar to the channel preview on ITVue or any other channel guide addon, while at the same time the background is skinned with corporate branding, or showing the same slide shows we've been using while still having a windowed video in the foreground, AND an RSS ticker at the bottom.

I just don't know how to formulate my search phrase to find it. I'd like to not have to re-invent the wheel if such a thing already exists. The settings would elements such as video source, background source, logo source, and rss source

I don't know any turn-key solution for this, but there are skins that provide this general functionality. You would have to mod the skin files to fit your specific use case. You might ask in the skinning development forum for suggested skins to work from.

Something else you might search for is skins with "kiosk mode" as these are intended to hide menus/settings options and probably are a good starting point.
