I've tried to import a disk...
after it scanned everything (rar included) the "Compressing database" came out... and is still there....

what should happen?

mmh looking in my crystal ball I see ... a missing log file.
Anyway I'm very new to all the functionality so please tell me what I have to do in order to reproduce it Laugh
Anyway I think I have to less content to test all the issues arriving..

WiSo,
you're doing a splendid work!
I hope my pc will be back soon (major HW failure) to be able to start working on source...
this is the outcome of my htpc testings Smile

I'm looking forward using XBMC as THE HTPC software... is the best so far I've seen...

Regarding the issue:
1) add a resource (in my case I have 1 disk with a lot of content and a lot of subfolders) (my name E)
2) right click on the disk
3) set content (I've choosen: Movies -> filmup.it), scan automaticaly, recoursive
4) ok
5) right click on E
6) Scan for new content
7) do not do nothing while in the "downlading" phase
8) at the end... sometimes it remains in "compressing DB"

I have been running into the same issue in Vista. The only way I have found to remedy the situation so far is to run XBMC as administrator. Otherwise it get's stuck in "compressing database" as noted above or it will just freeze XBMC and I have to terminate the application.
