Asking on behalf of a family member who pays someone else £100 a year to "fix" their Amazon Firestick to watch movies etc.

They don't know exactly what they're paying for so I looked at the downloads and saw kodi-19.4-Matrix-armeabi-v7a.apk had been installed.

Does this come with a premium service? How much a year does it cost? I'm trying to establish if family member is being ripped off (which I suspect is the case).

Kodi does not provide any content. All we develop and provide is the Kodi software.

Sounds like you have a piracy build, which is something we do not support here.

And keep in mind Kodi is open source provided under the terms of the GNU General Public License v2.0 or later, as provided in LICENSES/GPL-2.0-or-later.  So anyone can provide Kodi deliverables or incorporate Kodi as part of an offering as long as they abide by the GPL license, which generally requires providing access to the source code.
