v20 Kodi crashes with GLX Error: vInfo is NULL!
#1
Hi,

I need some help with a Kodi issue I bumped into.

Story goes like this:

Software updater in Zorin OS 16.3 said there are some updates available. I installed them, after which I restarted the PC.

Now Kodi won't start and the log looks like this:

https://pastebin.com/r3d0RDGe

I tried switching between Nvidia drivers, but it doesn't seem to work.

Using Kodi 20.2 on Zorin OS 16.3

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you so much!

I managed to solve it myself. It seems Kodi installation is different depending on what Nvidia driver you have.

What I did to fix it was this:

Checked the latest commit for the Flathub app I am using (I am using Kodi via Flathub).
Quote:flatpak remote-info --log flathub tv.kodi.Kodi
Then perform update on that latest commit (which in my case was the same as the commit I had installed):
Quote:sudo flatpak update --commit=98c6d4249c21ff65b37d771a373df9d4ccf3dc20d884724df66aa717176de760 tv.kodi.Kodi

Looking for updates…

        ID                                                       Branch             Op            Remote             Download
 1. [✓] org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.nvidia-545-29-06             1.4                i             flathub            325.6 MB / 325.6 MB

Installation complete.
Now Kodi starts again as it should and the log looks OK again.  Blush

My assumption is this is needed every time Nvidia drivers are updated, either manually or by the Software Update package.
