Control 55 in window 10040 has been asked to focus, but it can't
#1
Hey guys, first time posting, hope I'm doing it right.

I started messing with Kodi for the first time in a few years a couple weeks ago, everything was working fine and I was really enjoying it when suddenly, a couple days ago, It started having a lot of performance issues.

It would take a minute or two to start up when before it would begin immediately. When it did finally start, it would take another minute or two before I could actually start moving the cursor. Basically, everything I did would cause it to either freeze or become entirely unresponsive.

I've tried everything I can think of. I uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh version several times, I've tried updating windows 10, reinstalling graphics card drivers, uninstalling any programs I installed since I started having issues, and the only thing I can find in the error log is the subject name.

Here's the error log: https://pastebin.com/3c7s0Df5

All I did was start a fresh install of Kodi 18.3, enable unknown sources, and attempt to access the file manager. It's been stuck on the loading icon for about 5 minutes now. I'm assuming it has something to do with my graphics card or something? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

The log is not a proper Debug Log. While the last line shows the Control 55 issue, enabling Debug Mode may reveal other errors.

Follow this guide to enable Debug Mode... https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=323719

Woops sorry, here you go: https://pastebin.com/aYR5pcH6

Again, all I did was open Kodi and go into file manager. It went unresponsive for a few minutes before finally loading.

10040 is the window id for the addon-browser. The last log does 't show that error. So the error is unrelated to the problem probably.

Everything I could find related to an ID "55" is related to a view. Maybe by entering the addonbrowser.xml tried to focus a specific list/group/whatever.  But that shouldn't cause to become unresponsive.

I'm starting to think it's a problem with my PC or something, but that also doesn't make a lot of sense because I have no problems with anything else.
Nothing else is lagging in performance, CPU load and temps are fine, ect.

With Kodi closed try renaming the Kodi folder in Appdata e.g. kodi_old (this means you retain a backup of current configuration) then restart Kodi. If ok then add the contents of the kodi_old to the new Kodi folder to identify where the problem is.

For location of Kodi folder see https://kodi.wiki/view/Userdata

Like I said, this is all on a fresh install of Kodi. I can't even get into the file manager to add repos without Kodi temporarily freezing or crashing, so there are no add ons or special configurations whatsoever. I did what you said anyway and it crashed on start up: https://pastebin.com/WWFAvHJQ

Here's the second attempt. It stopped responding as soon as the first menu opened: https://pastebin.com/Eqvvwe6D

I don't think "Control 55 can't focus" has any impact.  I noticed that service.xbmc.versioncheck was running during the hang but I've never heard of that addon causing any problems.  I also noticed that there was a disc in Drive H but again I don't think that is the problem.

Uninstalling and reinstalling does not produce a fresh install, for that you need to manually delete the Kodi folder in %APPDATA% if you indeed have done this then great, but plenty of people say they've done a fresh install but did not do anything to remove the Userdata folder.

Woops, sorry I have no idea why that happened. Here you go: https://pastebin.com/2kHt69v3

Line 35 says something about turning it off though, did I screw it up again?

Which skin? Window 10025 is video navigation and 55 is probably a list view.
