RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - amb7247 - 2012-12-25 (2012-12-25, 10:49)malte Wrote:amb7247 Wrote:I tried 1.1.0 but I could not get to the point of it asking where to save the art information.Yes, thats exactly the error I mentioned above. It is already fixed and I will release a new version soon (maybe today). The artwork is stored on the same hard drive as xbmc and windows, just in it's own separate folder. I'll try to reimport and see what happens to see if the artwork comes in and let you know if it works. The computer is an intel intel core i7 920 6GB memory GTX 285. But xbmc will not be on this system in the future as I'm going to build a HTPC but it seems this should not happen. THe artwork did show up in simplicity I believe. However, I had a few occasions where it would change views for some reason (would change to a list) on it's own and I'd have to go back and reset the view. RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - n1md4 - 2012-12-25 Hi there. I have had good experience with RCB, and really enjoy using it. I do have 2 questions though: 1) Is it possible to have a 'GAMES' section from the main menu, as you do for movies, series, etc, showing recent adds, and the library of titles etc. Instead of having to launch RCB through the program menu. 2) I have previously posted a problem running mupen in fullscreen without a cached view of XBMC obscuring it's video (the sound works perfectly). Here is the original post. I'm hoping posting here too will increase that post's scope. Thanks in advance, any help here will make an all ready great addon that little bit better for me. Every skin that supports having favorites on the home screen should do. If you wait some time until Aeon Nox is ready to go you can even have an RCB widget that allows you to start your last played roms from the home screen. n1md4 Wrote:2) I have previously posted a problem running mupen in fullscreen without a cached view of XBMC obscuring it's video (the sound works perfectly). Here is the original post. It closes XBMC, but then subsequently reopens it, without a hint of game. Code: tag_xbmc_log: 02:14:46 T:3007792960 DEBUG: Previous line repeats 13 times. RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - malte - 2012-12-26 Hmmm, so it does launch applaunch.sh, otherwise it would not close XBMC. And the command that it writes to the log looks ok. You could try two things: 1. Launch the command (including applaunch.sh) from a terminal and see what happens. 2. Launch XBMC from a terminal and then try to load the game. Usually if there are errors launching the emulator, it should be written to the terminal window. One question: Did you have to make applaunch.sh executable or was it already? It should be shipped as an executable file since one of the latest test releases. RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - jjmucker - 2012-12-26 ok so i seemed to have installed roms for mega drive and nes i think. how do i go back to the root, as in, choosing which console i want to run. im stuck on mega drive. also, i seem to have probs importing snes roms, its as if it just hangs and stops searching for artwork and i have to esc out? any ideas? RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - malte - 2012-12-26 There is a filter pane that is hidden by default. Just move around with the arrow keys and the filter should pop up. There you can switch between consoles. About snes roms: Try to import them again and check the xbmc.log when it crashes again. In some cases there are issues with certain file or folder names that contain special character (like accents or similar). RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - negge - 2012-12-26 (2012-12-26, 08:58)malte Wrote: One question: Did you have to make applaunch.sh executable or was it already? I installed the .zip via XBMC as usual. RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - jjmucker - 2012-12-27 Seems to be all sorted and working great thanks, I just have a few small probs that hopefully I can sort with the help from you guys. As I'm using the mce remote, is there anyway to access your rom emulators just by using the remote. Right now I have to use my keyboard and scroll up to the top and wriggle the trackpad until the drops own menu appears? Also, my roms so far open in full screen, that's great but how to I go about exiting them and bringing xbmc back up just by using the remote? Many thanks for a great way to spend ages reliving my childhood. :-) RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - drrj - 2012-12-27 Has anyone gotten RCB working with mess? I've gotten all of my roms imported and the game command configured (/usr/games/mess nes -cart %ROM% -video opengl), but it will not launch from inside xbmc standalone (xbmcbuntu frodo rc2). Mess and the games work fine when launching from a terminal in the XBMCbuntu desktop session. I'm using RCB 1.1.1. I've also installed service.rom.collection.browser, do I need to do that? Below is the log output from RCB when trying to launch a game. I have no idea what the mess output is, as RCB doesn't seem to log that... Code: 20:06:17 T:2908740416 NOTICE: RCB_DEBUG: onClick: 52 RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - phil65 - 2012-12-27 @ malte i added the viewtype settings button and also a button in context menu to start a video + merged in all your translations. there are probably still some flaws left, but I probably won´t get everything done for initial frodo release. will come later then. cheers RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - tBGTrav - 2012-12-27 A friend and I have been trying to get RCB to play rom preview videos but we are having issues. We tried following the directions on the wiki step by step but videos just will not play for some reason. Both of us are using the latest RCB with xbmc 11, aeon nox skin(although we've tried other skins to see if we could get it to work). Neither of us are entirely sure why it isn't working. We add a media path for gameplay, have a video named the same thing as the rom, rescrape using local artwork but it doesn't work. Any help/advice would be much appreciated. Thank you! As I always have my keyboard at hand and use this to close the emulators I can't recommend you one of them. drrj Wrote:I'm using RCB 1.1.1. Thank you!It should definitely work with the Confluence skin. Common errors: Make sure that "Autoplay video" is enabled in "Edit Rom Collection" dialog. And make sure that you have enabled "Always rescrape imported games" in Addon settings. Otherwise it will not update the games that you already added to your database. If you still have trouble please show me your log. Maybe there is something that I can see. RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - jjmucker - 2012-12-28 Using the remote and pressing the up arrow button only takes me to the left panel with library settings and the like.
