From the windows log it's really hard to tell.
Just an idea:
Did you maybe build the Debug version? Debug builds need the debug runtime (vcredist).
So please try to make a Release build and try copying that.

I've never compiled source on Windows before. Generally I build on Linux so this is new territory for me as well

Same problem here. Recordings show up in Mythweb but not in XBMC.
