My Live TV recordings are only updating on a reboot. I'm running myth addon 1.6.9 with the latest 0.26 backend which was working great a couple days ago. Any ideas of where to start?

I too am having this issue. I'm running a 0.26 muthbuntu 12.04 backend and an OpenElec RC 2.99.5 frontend. Here is a link to my debug log paste. I looked in it and noticed this:

I seem to have a similar problem also, only I can't see my recordings aren't appearing at all in XBMC.
I noticed it yesterday, but it may've happened the day before - suddenly all of my old recordings disappeared in the "recordings" section of LiveTV, and none of the new ones show up - it's like an empty folder. However, I can still:
- watch LiveTV through XBMC;
- see the EPG through XBMC;
- recordings still happen on the backend as scheduled;
- I can see, and stream, recordings through MythWeb on the laptop; and
- all other XBMC functionality (movies, music) appears to be working properly.
My setup is:
- CentOS server running 0.25.3 backend
- XBMCbuntu (12/Frodo) running cmyth
The fact that I can access the recordings either via MythWeb or a SMB share makes me suspect it's an issue with XBMC, unless it's a problem with mysql/mythconverg?

Can you please check if a recording with the name "1171_20130318054400.mpg" exists on the backend? (the last number is the date, also check if there's a similar file)
Also explain how exactly you schedule the recording. I tried mythweb, and EPG, both work for me.
A backend log might be helpful as well!

I've only been using Mythweb to schedule the recordings. I'll try EPG tonight and see if that works better.
Deleting updates instantly ( using xbmc & Mythweb) Seems to only have problems adding new episode/shows.

I haven't tried deleting episodes to see if that is reflected in the recordings list but I can say with confidence that no new recordings show up unless I restart xbmc.

I tried this again, this time using XBMC on the same computer as my backend. It was using yhe MythTV cmyth PVR client version 1.6.7. The recording showed up immediately upon recording a show (I recorded it by 'Start Recording' in the context menu of the channel list).

When you tested for this issue, were you testing using XBMC on the backend or another computer? I'm trying to figure out if this is only happening on remote frontends. I mentioned earlier that I was successful with XBMC on my backend using the 1.6.7 PVR addon, but I had no success trying OpenElec 2.99.4 (Which also has 1.6.7) on another computer yesterday.
Would anyone who has had success displaying their new recordings on a separate frontend post what OS/versions they are using, please? My setup is only for testing right now, so I'd like to try out a combination which has worked for others. Thanks.

I've tested this with both, remote (win7) and local (linux 64bit) frontend.
It looks like there's something wrong with the timestamps. Did you setup your recording rules to start a couple of minutes earlier?

Recordings are set to start on-time. I've only used remote front-end. I don't have Mythtv setup on the same box as xbmc.

When you mentioned the time and scheduling being off a couple minutes or something that got me thinking. My frontend is an arm box that uses NTP for time. If I type date in a shell it reports my date and time in UTC. I use timezone adjustment in xbmc to display the time according to my TZ. If I type date on my mythbackend machine it reports date and time as ETC (my local timezone). Just saying... maybe. xbmc.log is however logged as xbmc's time as xbmc sees it through the TZ settings in xbmc.

My xbmc was set by default to record 2 min early and 10 min later. I set both to zero, and still have been unable to see recordings right away. I might try reinstalling my backend distro because my channel lists and instant recordings are being time stamped with roughly unix time 0. I wonder if my mysql database is messed up.

I'm having the same issues where the recorded programs list is not refreshing unless I exit xbmc and reopen. However, xbmc and the mythtv backend are on the same box.
Machine info:
Mythbuntu install: master backend (only backend), Frontend, mythtv 0.25
Xbmc frodo 12.1
PVR Client 1.6.9
A couple of the recorded programs have early start times, but most of them do not.

Refering back to my previous post (#7), on Mar 18 18:07:52 both my backend and my frontend agree that I tried recording something.
If I'm reading the failed recording correctly, the timestamp (1363669680) as told failed by EventUpdateRecordings is Tue, 19 Mar 2013 05:08:00 GMT. Currently my time zone is UTC-05:00 (Central Daylight Time for the US) which would make the timestamp adjusted for my time zone Tue, 19 Mar 2013 12:08:00 AM. The mpg file is dated Mon, 18 Mar 2013 23:08:00. The mpg matches neither the GMT time or UTC-05:00. It does, however, match Central Standard Time, or UTC-06:00. Is it failing because the timestamps don't match under my current time zone/offset? Is part of the software unable to tell that Daylight Savings time / European Summer Time don't start on the same days (March 10th this year vs. the last summer in March)? AFAICT, this issue occurred only after March 10th. Am I chasing the wrong rabbit? Thanks.
