Android TV-Stick, Amlogic AML8726-M3
#1
Hi,

I just bought this product from ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/370690601398?ssP...1439.l2649

Specs:
CPU Amlogic AML8726-M3 up to 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A9+ 1080P media+3D GPU
Memory DDRIII 1G DDR3

I heard that this chip is perfect for hardware decoding in xbmc and should support 1080p / 720p etc. But when I run videos with this resolution it's really laggy and unwatchable.

I've downloaded the android version 12.1 Frodo on this website. I'm I missing something here? Tried to find an answer on this forum but so for nothing helpful.

Android HW acceleration is still experimental and not enabled in the mainstream release.

The latest XBMC test build with HW acceleration can be downloaded here: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/andr...bi-v7a.apk

Actually, on second pass, the HW acceleration thread (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=152005) states that AmLogic chips are not supported.

* WARNING: Not for AmLogic nor Allwinner SoC's, which do not support libstagefright *

So, you may be out of luck at the moment ...

Are you sure that your Andorid has an Amlogic CPU ?

Could you try one more apk?

You might be able to install proper XBMC Linux on your stick though, check this out: http://www.j1nx.nl/support/forums/?mingl...topic&t=54
Careful though, I seem to have bricked/broken my M3 stick in the process of trying to flash the Linux image.

When I try to open the file with the filemanager it says "analyzing problems". Can't seem to open the application.

Hmm is it worth the risk? If I brick it is there any way to "un-brick" it?

thx again for the tip momo.

The first link of xbmc did just crash. The second one did work untill you tried to start any video file. Tried both local and from my NAS. When you choose a file it starts processing then after a few seconds it's also crashing.
