Are it not possible to use same way on the series file or does them always need to be named same as the movie file? Wuld be nice to have like episode.nfo or whatever

/ Anton

Cant use episode.nfo with Season folders since you need one for every episode.

For Season Artwork, would like the <season>-fanart.jpg show up as "season1-fanart.jpg" vs "Season 01 -fanart.jpg". Perhaps a new option for seasonX-fanart.jpg to be placed in the show's root, just in case someone is using the above setting for something else.

Newer XBMC skins are using this convention for season fanart.

What is the correct labeling/filename of a:
Season Fanart?
Episode Fanart?

SEASON FANART:

Skins in XBMC seem to make use of season fanart in two different ways:

One is "fanart.jpg" in the season folder. This seems to be working correctly in Ember today.
Two is "seasonX-fanart.jpg", i.e. "season1-fanart.jpg", in the TV Show root folder. Note that it is a single digit number (like seasonX.tbn vs. seasonXX.tbn season thumbs) unless of course the season is a two-digit number.

Episode fanart - not sure at all on this - I don't download Episode thumbs or Episode-level fanart; I let XBMC get them.

On a side side - has any thought be given to having an auxillary scraper to scrape artwork from fanart.tv for items such as logo.png (TV Logo), character.png (Character Artwork), landscape.jpg (16x9 Thumb/Landscape), clearart.png (TV Artwork) for TV Shows?

For movies, also from fanart.tv, logo.png (Movie Logo) and disc.png (Disc Art) are also available.

Second, I asked this a while ago, but I think it's worth bringing up again since ember has been revitalised; on IMDB some movies don't have MPAA ratings, but they do have a regular US rating. Why this is, I have no idea. It would be very useful if the US rating could be used as an MPAA rating but *only* when the MPAA rating does not exist.

I hope that makes sense, and thank you for keeping ember up to date.

This would be a nice option to have.
And finally - DanCooper. Thank you (and also Bodrick) for picking this up and keeping Ember alive. I have TRIED to use many other media managers out there, and Ember is by far the best, even with the maintenance having changed hands several times over the past couple of years. Great work!

Dan Cooper -

Do you want me to log this on the Ember Project site? Do you use it?
Not so long a go i asked what is wrong with Ember that it doesn't pick up genre's when scrapping movies. Download latest version (fix 6), cleaned up everything else but also in this version i'm still not getting genre's.

If someone can help me fix this i can use Ember to scrap my collection again but without Genre it's pretty useless for me.

Edit:
Another thing i almost forgot, every time i start Ember i'ts bringing up the setup window again, selecting language etc. Am i doing something wrong here?

I use the native scraper and genre works perfect for me.

Hmm, you have make a clean install or overwrite old files? You can overwrite onle the files from version 1.3.0.5 to Fix 6, not from 1.3.0.4 or older.

I was wondering what the status update is on fixing the episodeguide tag in the tvshow.nfo. This prevents me from using the program for my thshows right now.

What is the "episodeguide" tag? What's in it, or should be in there?

Here is more info on the episodeguide tag

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Imp...y#TV_Shows

It would be great to have this added. I have to rescrape TV Shows constantly to get Ember to recognize new episodes. This behavior seems to happen regardless of what I have the "Re-download show information every" option set to.

Yeh i did not get it first but its actully only if you have everyone episode in same folder, another slotion are to save it as <tvshow>-nfo.nfo so we don´t need to screw up the orginal NFO thats a relly stupid way it works atm

I think its a .net framework problem...

Sorry I should have said. Same version of Windows on all - Win 7 x64 Enterprise. I can't confirm the version of .NET on the PCs that work, but on this one that it doesn't work it's .NET 4 which has been around since Dec 2010. I performed a repair installation of .NET but that didn't help.

I found a log file. On opening EMMr it puts the following into it:

Quote:Title: Error
Message: This method implicitly uses CAS policy, which has been obsoleted by the .NET Framework. In order to enable CAS policy for compatibility reasons, please use the NetFx40_LegacySecurityPolicy configuration switch. Please see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=155570 for more information.

I found this article, but I don't think I as an end user can do anything: http://www.davidmoore.info/2010/12/17/ru...4-runtime/

Confirmed that a machine Ember works on is using .NET 4, so there must be something else to explain this message:

Anyone had the chance to look into imdbapi.com rather than imdb.com? Would really make things so much easier for us here in China...
Server: Asus Sabertooth Z77 | Intel Core i5 3.4 GHz | 16 GB DDR3 | 128 GB SSD, 82 TB (9 x 6 TB, 7 x 4 TB)
HTPC 1: Raspberry Pi 2 | HTPC 2: Raspberry Pi 2 | HTPC 3: Raspberry Pi
I just started using Ember MM and I have a question that I don't think anyone has asked.
My movies are all in separate folders, and I encounter a problem with ones that are split in to two CD's. The directory structure looks like this:

[D] My Movie Name
- [D] CD1
---[F] movie-cd1.avi (or a bunch of unextracted rar files of the CD1 avi)
- [D] CD2
---[F] movie-cd2.avi (or a bunch of unextracted rar files of the CD2 avi)

So, the obvious solution would be to move the .avi files up into the root directory, but I'd really rather not do that (too many movies). When Ember scans (recursively, otherwise it doesn't detect any movies at all that is using the above folder structure), then it picks up each sub-directory as a separate entry. That means I end up with a long list of: CD1, CD1, CD1, CD1, CD2, CD2, CD2, CD2. Yuk!

Is there a way to NOT scan recursively and still have it enter the movie info into the top directory? It shouldn't matter what's in the CD1, CD2 directories if all the .nfo data is added to the root movie directory, right? (as some movie folders do have a .nfo in its root but EMM not detecting).

Also - is EMM able to detect movies that are unpacked (still in multiple rars)? As Ive got a few movies in folders named correctly but not extracted (i.e Movie Title->CD1->rar files) and EMM wont detect it. (I dont want to extract as XBMC can play them fine).

Thanks

btw, all my NFOs have the set tag in them, it's just EMM is not reading it.

I don't know YAMJ. Can you share a nfo file and a screenshot of a folder, one that is OK, one that not identify by Ember?

The first time i ran EMM, it worked with a test group of movies.

but later when i finished configuring EMM, when added my real media collection, it didnt list all those sets and associated movies in the "Sets Manager" in EMM.

I need a workaround this, it will be a big hassle for me to go and create them all again Sad
I'd like the <sorttitle> option in EMM somewhere. So if you open a set it puts the movies in the correct order in case the names don't do so alphabetically. It's annoying to have to go into a dozen sets of movies and edit the .nfo manually Smile
