I found a solution to the ATI problem in another thread:

Apparently theres problems with the OpenGL/XBMC in the newer drivers, but the 7.4 drivers work.

I have uploaded the DLL's thats needed here:
XP DLL
http://rapidshare.com/files/100777527/at...xp_7.4.zip
Vista 32 bit DLL
http://rapidshare.com/files/100777633/at...ta_7.4.zip

Download the ZIP file according to your operating system and unzip the file in your XBMC directory.

Questions:
1) is it possible to disable some buttons? more specificaly: programs - scripts

The first one is useless on PC and the second one hangs the XBMC

2) can it be used with a remote? if yes how?

Thanks
Mf

P.S:
GREAT JOB!

WiSo Wrote:Guys, are you really sure you used a fresh t3ch build and cleaned the $user_home\XBMC directory?
From your log the P: drive mapping is wrong, it should be equal to the T: drive.
My log:
Code:
NOTICE: Q is mapped to: E:\XBMC
NOTICE: The executeable running is: E:\XBMC\XBMC.exe
NOTICE: Log File is located:
NOTICE: -----------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTICE: Mapping drive T to C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\WiSo\Anwendungsdaten\XBMC\UserData
...
NOTICE: Mapping drive Z to C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\WiSo\Anwendungsdaten\XBMC\cache
...
NOTICE: Mapping drive P to C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\WiSo\Anwendungsdaten\XBMC\UserData
I didn't have the latest build but it's still running video fast with no sound on the newer one.

That just gives me a black screen.

I'm having no luck with this version ether I deleted any thing to do with xbmc off my c drive and out of my registry and did a fresh install.

http://pastebin.com/m56e1face

The only difference for me is that looks for sources.xml "application data\xbmc"
instead of just in the application data folder is self.

from looking at other peoples logs they seem to be getting the same errors but xbmc starts up for them I just don't get it.

Hi there,

I'm also getting fast playback and no audio when digital audio is selected.

I deleted the folder in documents and settings and the same behavior was observed.

I have an Abit AN-M2HD motherboard with onboard 7.1 "HD" audio. (nVidia 630a chipset) This is outputted via an optical spdif.

The video is also onboard - the nVidia 7050 with video outputted via HDMI to my 1080p display.

This is fantastic work - the new build enabled seeing my mapped network drives! Smile)

Thanks!

I noticed (using fresh build yesterday i made, as well as download build link here.) i wasn't getting video (black background, with audio), but after looking in the settings, for some reason the video settings was set for 4x3 PAL, so i switched it to 1440x900 (desktop resolution), and it's playing video just fine. Granted sometimes (1/4 of the time) it does freeze when selecting a title or movie directory it locks up sometimes, but that's cool, it's experimental anyway for now. And it doesn't always do that, depends on the daily build.

dj try setting it to best Availiable that always uses the current UI res in the SDL versions I'm pretty sure

Cool, i'll try that. I use 1440x900 anyway with my flatscreen monitor, that's why i figured that res would be always right since i also set the XBMC res to 1440x900 also. Thanks again Jezz.

if the video is fast but looking ok (not only green) then it should be a sound problem - like many users had/have this behaviour in OSX and Linux as far as i know.

Yeah, it looks perfect but just runs too fast with no sound only when digital is selected, if analogue is used then both play fine. I've disabled the on-board sound.

mfsav2 Wrote:for me is fine on the analog audio...

AC3 plays fine with analog audio but DTS has a hissing/distorted sound (when digital is selected, I experience the same as many others: super speed playback with no audio). I'm using Vista SP1 with an ASUS P5K-VM board using the on-board HD Audio.

Another quirk with this build, the Win32 visualizations work but in the Main Menu, they only appear if the the mouse cursor is active. When the mouse disappears, so does the visualization.

Personally, I can't express how excited I am to see this project. I ADORE XBMC but the lack of HD playback was limiting my use of it lately. As bad as Vista Media Center is, I was trying to make it usable.

Keep up the great work and if there's some place to make donations, please let us know!

Yeah, it's playing vid's fine on mine when using Analog (including a new build today i made.), but it IS acting up when switching audio to Digital. I hear audio, i see the time counter in bar at bottom counting, but video is frozen.
I currently am using my 5 channel computer speakers mounted, and my 37inch HDTV is mounted above my 20inch Samsung flatscreen, so i usually flip and use that for watching movies anyway (using my xbox and optical input of my audigy 2 pro front panel.) But this is for testing anyway, so i'm sure the Digital problem being reported will be fixed in time.
