Release Aura
(2019-02-18, 09:41)Turnspit Wrote: Before I upgrade to Kodi v18, I'm looking into a fitting Skin, and this one might be it. Just a few questions beforehand:

Does Aura support custom home menu entries as well as custom images for those entries (pretty much like Arctic Zephyr does)?

Yes it does but as for custom images... What are they and where.? Background wallpapers? Yes... But the way its lated out with the widgets it would be a cluster f.. K and you won't see much of the backgrounds.

Thanks got it working in the end as I had to delete the cache file and let it rebuild. I knew it had to be something as I have 2 boxes and it was working on one of them and not the other, strangely though I did not need to delete the cache file from the one that was working. It does seem very slow to get the information though, is there a way for it to remember the information at all and not have to try to find it each time please?

A couple of other things, if possible:
Any chance you can add a conditional weather background option to the choices of backgrounds please?
Any chance you can add random photos option to the choices of backgrounds please?

I mentioned this before but I thought I would mention it again - with TV series details on Continuing / Ended etc I see that shows that are marked as Continuing also display a date that could be a long way in the past, could it be changed so that if the date is in the past then it is not display please?

This Skin is just fantastic, I love it, please keep up this amazing work.

Ah, I see, looking at the screenshots again... So there isn't a simple and clean homescreen without any widgets and just the menu items?

I'm not much on widgets.  You can remove them by customizing the home screen.  There are options to use single or multiple images from a file, or random cycling images from any of your libraries.  I just added submenus to the addons under movies or tvshows.  It makes for a very clean presentation.

I have an idea, when the info screen is called during playback (up button from OSD), could you make the OSD controls disappear? And reappear when down button is pressed.
Yeah this might be a possibility.

BTW you can map buttons on a per window basis (ie only in fullscreenvideo) - I'm pretty sure long press OK is mapped to play/pause on fullscreenvideo by default.
 Thanks I didn't know that!
I've mapped long pressed OK to info in fullscreenvideo windows, and it does the job :
Code:
<keymap>
  <FullscreenVideo>
    <keyboard>
      <return mod="longpress">Info</return>
      <enter mod="longpress">Info</enter>
    </keyboard>
  </FullscreenVideo>
</keymap>
Of course if you decide to make OSD controls disappear when Info is called it would be still great Smile

Totally surprised to discover Aura(18). I thought I followed this forum and your GitHub page and there was no mention of a version for Leia? Is it your work? It was the only thing keeping me from upgrading to Kodi 18. Finally pulled the trigger and i am very pleased. Aura is a wonderful skin.

Dont know if this was mentioned already but if I try to scrape for something the scraper can’t find i get stuck in an endless loop without the option to cancel
/abort the scraping. I keep the contextual menu button pressed which crashes Kodi, that’s my way out of that scraping hell loop for now. Maybe there is another option or is it a bug?

There is a glitch with how the kodi.tv site reads the add-on list. Being fixed (soon hopefully), along with the duplicate results.

hi, firstly awesome skin. really love it. Ive been using it since i first restarted back up with kodi and its pretty much perfect. I just switched from krypton 17.6 to leia today and i'm having an issue with the "AZ" icon for sorting items in my widgets. the button doesn't seem to do anything no matter how much i click it. i am using a fire stick and it worked just fine on krypton. i also noticed it wouldn't work on my laptop version which is windows and not android, but its much easier to navigate on my laptop so it wasn't such an issue. not sure what i can do to fix it, so id greatly appreciate your help. thanks!!

Do you mean order of widgets? Because it's not possible without completely rewriting the widget code and using some complex hacks.

If you mean sorting *within* the widget (eg sort by date added) - that can be done by clicking the AZ icon in the widget customisation screen.
 oops. meant to quote this in my previous post from an hr ago. long story short, widget sorting icon not working on kodi 18 leia. another thing is i dont know how to get to the backup file path. when i try to change the restore/backup path im in an area i dont recognize.

Skin doesn't control what scrapers do.

If you are talking about the update library function, if you call it again from the top menu that will cancel scraping.

Yes it is my work.

There has been a Leia version available on github for many months before I released the official version to the kodi repo.
