4K only works if you login with an Amazon TLD account, not with a PrimeVideo.com account.

@orenmi Sorry for the confusion. You always login with your Prime account, but it depends on the web site where you login to access Prime Video.
For some countries this is the "normal" Amazon site such as amazon.com, amazon.co.uk or amazon.de for example.
But for other countries (like mine, The Netherlands), you need to logon to primevideo.com.

Does anyone know if video playback is possible without hardware acceleration (using the InputStream Adaptive method)?
The thing is that there is no picture on video playback if I disable the Media Codec (Surface) acceleration in Kodi's Player settings. I don't need 4K for now (I have a Full HD plasma TV) and I think that my Shield TV 2017 Pro is powerful enough to manage 1080p streams using only CPU resources, but sometimes I would like to watch some Prime old movies in Standard Definition with more detail using Kodi's HQ software scalers like Lanczos 3 or Spline 36, which are not available if this option is enabled.

Commit 068454f (Amazon VOD 0.9.7+matrix.1) has introduced the disabling of video playback in H.264/AVC standard. Now the plug-in only supports H.265/HEVC playback. I did not enable the UltraHD (Android+Widevine L1) and register device for 4k playback options in settings. How to restore H.264/AVC playback?

Audio stopped working for me, Amazon Prime in USA. Local video playback on Kodi is fine, so are the other streaming video services I use. I haven't seen an error, just no sound on playback, as if I'd turned the volume all the way down (but I hadn't).

@markeymark yes me as well only in the older versions (before. 0.9.5 and below) and or not using the web api as far as currently no i can't. where in the same boat cannot access my channel subscriptions (its just blank) hopefully fixed in the future

glad someone else is having the same issue and its not just my end.....hopefully the dev will look into this as I only really use the premium add on stuff

The latest update -- which got applied today -- seems to have fixed the issue of no audio on Amazon Prime videos in US. I kinda wish that anybody aware of the problem and eventual solution would have chimed in . . .

I'm running on my test bed and I wasn't having any issues, but it had been awhile since I used the addon. Today I tried and got an error about Unable to load menus....I reset the addon and logged back in, and made sure I was using 9.6, still getting the error. Any help is greatly appreciated.
