i have just installed xbmc 15-07-05
d m y
cosmetically not much immediate difference...until i tried to enter my kai engine ip address.
thought this is different...looks more snazzy!
entered 192.168.2 and then it wouldn't let me continue because i only wanted the number 2 in the 3rd ip segment.
i knew i could get around it by putting in 192.168.222.2
and then just changing the 3rd segment to 2 again and then ending.
but am i missing something, it seems a bit awkward to me.

try the triggers for next/prev, or left/right if you use the remote.

there's also buttons on the dialog for this!

i noticed that when i upgrade xbmc (or do a new install on a prev. unmodded box) xbmc will autodetect the kai engine running on the lan. why can't we just have a toggle button in the xbmc kai settings to just use that auto detection everytime. the auto detect works pretty fast so i don't see speed being an issue.

options:
off
on
manual (even if deselected it will remember last used ip)
auto

also maybe if more than one engine is detected on the lan then maybe xbmc would be able to use the engine that has no gui attached? (i know the kai engine may not support that though.) this part is prolly not very needed.

how do i get 3 digits on the third ip number?

example. 192.168.101.1

after 2 digits it jumps to the last field. is there a workaround this?

yes - it's been fixed for a couple of days. it'll be in cvs sometime today.
