When I heard there was going to be an Android version for XBMC I was really excited, however, when the RC came out and I tried it - it was very disappointing. I was hoping to see a XBMC client for Android, not a port of the XBMC server for Android.

What I'm looking for is an Android app that lets me connect to my existing XBMC server to stream video/music from that server to my Android device.

Does such a thing exist? Is it in the works?

XBMC is both client and server in one application. Sounds like you want this: UPnP/Share (wiki)

Only issue is that the audio level on the Android device is extremely quiet. Even with audio amplification on full.
