Question on WMC PVR addon and cablecard recordings
#1
Hi,
I have been using WMC with a cable card from Time Warner and using a XBox as a extender.
I want to get away from using the xbox as MS is not really supporting this going forward.
So can I watch my existing cable card recordings or do they have to be tagged copy freely?

They can have to be copy-free to watch titles in xbmc.

You can check to make sure: just try to play a wtv from one of these channels with xbmc.

Maybe once the merger goes through Comcast will enforce their policies instead.

As in all channels will be marked copy once I am afraid so they can make more money forcing us to rent their equipment Sad

Comcast had most non-premium channels marked "copy freely" when I was using them. Switched to FiOS around 5 years ago.
