I was wondering if there's a simple way to modify the EPG in Kodi so that it can display text bigger, less channels, and less time slots.

I tried to do this before by hacking the code, but found that it didn't really do what I needed in an easy to modify way.

If you use confluence skin, you can select 'large fonts' (settings -> skin -> Fonts).

Again for confluence skin if you look in addons\skin.confluence\720p\ViewsPVRGuide.xml it provides control over some of these things.

But it might be worth you experimenting with other skins first to see if one of them does what you want already. Easier than hacking your own ;-).
