I get this error message on my tray icon "Not connected to the core services"

I think you need to raise this on the Argus TV forum (not Kodi) as its related to the main app rather than the pvr client or plugin for kodi

Thats ok I just bought plex its a great alternative. And everything works right out of the box

I had the same problem. I fixed it entering the correct login credentials for argus in "Options..." of the Notifier
