Upgraded Kodi, Slow and unresponsive browsing (MySQL used)
#1
Hello everyone,

I've been using Kodi for a couple of years now without problems until this weekend. Before I get into the issues I want to give a brief rundown of my setup. I have Kodi installed on three devices. One PC (windows 10) & two raspberry Pi 3's (Libreelec). The PC is on Ethernet and the Pi's are connected via WiFi. All of my media is on my local unraid server. All three devices use a MySQL database running from a MariaDB Docker on the servers SSD cache drive. This setup has been working great for me with very few issues since I got it up and running. I'm going to add a few more devices to my setup later this year so I decided to update Kodi to 18.9 (was previously still on Jarvis 17.6). I've been having issues ever since I made the upgrade.

The main issue is Kodi becomes unresponsive when navigating through my library. For instance, if I navigate to a season on a TV show, it could take up to a minute to load the season view. This same process happens when loading the episode view. The video will playback fine with zero stutters. Once the video ends Kodi will sometimes hang when trying to return to the episode view. Kodi will also sometimes hang when trying to return to the main TV Show menu. This could result in several minutes of Kodi being completely unresponsive. I also see this happen when I'm going from my Movies back to the main menu.

This currently only seems to be effecting the Pi's. It's also a sporadic issue on when it will become unresponsive. Sometimes everything loads up fine after a reboot. Navigating into playing a video is quick and snappy. Usually though, after the video finishes or I stop it, Kodi becomes unresponsive. There are other times where I reboot and the system is slow and unresponsive every step of the way into playing the video.

I've tried to changing the wait for network settings in LibreELEC from 10 up to 30 seconds but nothing seems to work. I've actually never used the wait for network before the upgrade. All three devices use the same advancedsettings.xml. I can also login via HeidiSQL using the name/password so I'm pretty sure it's not a permissions issue. I've read some older threads talking about changing cache values in MySQL but I'm not sure how to go about that. At the moment, I'm not sure if this is a network issue, a Pi issue or a database issue.

I've attached logs from both Pi's with the database option  and could get a log for the PC if needed.

Pi 1 Log (With wait for network set to 30 Seconds) -  DEBUG + DB Log
Pi 2 Log (With no wait for network) -  DEBUG + DB Log
