Hi there, I've been using Kodi for a couple years now with (mostly) minimal issues - running v18.9 with the default Estuary skin on an android TV and my PC, streaming from a Windows/MySQL backend. I only use it for movies, so no music or pictures in the db.
I recently tried my hand at creating some new views - ok, more like copying and modifying existing views to be more to my liking, which was surprisingly easy to do after reading lots of advice and guidance from the wiki and this forum.
I'm now trying to create or modify the existing Actors view, which defaults to WideList so it is more like the Wall or InfoWall movie views instead, but without much success. I tried copying and modifying the View_55_WideList to a new view but couldn't get it to work at all. Also tried modifying the Favorites view on the Home screen which is fairly close to what I'd like, but this means manually adding every actor to my favorites list every time I add a movie, plus this has both movies and actors in one view, which is not ideal - also I couldn't get the "Appearances" count label to work on this screen. Is there any way to get the view options to cycle through a couple different custom views similar to the way the movies/video views do? Can anyone provide some guidance or advice on if this is even possible at all? Much thanks for any help provided!
