v19 passwords.xml not updated for network shares on switching profile
#1
Question
Using: multiple NVShields (not sure if this is strictly an android issue though)
Assumption:   passwords.xml overrides mediasources.xml in profiles?
Goal: Locking kids out of R rated movies ('R' Subdir under 'movies' dir), which works fine on single profile installs.

...As the title alludes, I'm setting up profiles with different SMB users (and permissions).
All seems correct on configuration but after first log in/media source set up, a passwords.xml is created.
After switching profile, this passwords.xml (with credentials) stays as is, and applies to other profiles for library scans.  I'm probably wrong, but I assumed profile based mediasources.xml would take precedence.
No manual xml editing has been used, only observation, using clean installs.

I've tried using master, as well as a clean install and leaving master un-configured (with multiple other profiles) and the problem persists.
Single user profiles seem to work correctly with SMB permissions, It's just when multiple profiles are in play it gets messy, the way I'm doing it.
* The way I configure is Add Videos/Browse/Add network Share to 'media' (using separate SMB login for each profile) and use that created network location to drill down to other folders (eg movies, TV) for each type.  I've also tried adding network share directly to Movies location, but same result.

Any tips, pointers greatly appreciated.

Been searching a little more - the below thread seems similar, indicating a long term niggle for multiple profiles with different network share logins.

I could be wrong in my assumption.
Right or wrong though, either way I would love to find a workaround or test a fix, if it were ever to be looked at in development.

Thumbs Up
Seems that this is now fixed in v20?
Just so happened to be setting up another Shield with profiles and now the kids can't see the 'restricted' directory.
Nice work, whoever fixed the feature (or debugged and fixed what was already there).
