Rockchip hardware - Rotate the screen (GUI and videos) - is it possible?
#1
As the subject says, I am trying to tell kodi to rotate it's display. The GUI and the videos all need to be 90 degrees rotated. I've searched around and can't find any solutions. Open to ideas!

I have a patch in SDL2 that rotates the screen seamlessly - but kodi doesn't render with SDL2. Would it maybe be possible to wrap the kodi display into an SDL2 window so that SDL2 does the rotation work? Just brainstorming!

Here's an idea: tell us which hardware is this about?
Raspberry Pi 0-1-2-3 can easily rotate the display, the new video driver setup with the RPi4 is not so flexible.
But you'll have to do major surgery on the GUI part, rotating whatever skin you are planning to use.

Sorry, you're right I should have included the hardware detail. I'm concentrating on Rockchip chipsets at the moment. They do offer librga that can be utilized for rotation, which is how it's been patched into SDL2.
