I'm looking at moving to a 4K OLED TV. My current pre/pro only supports HDMI 1.4. I have a HTPC box I built that uses a Gigabyte H470I (Intel) motherboard. This motherboard has both HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4 ports. So I was wondering could I run 4K video out the HDMI 2.0 port (directly to the display) and audio out the HDMI 1.4 port simultaneously? If possible, which OS should I run? Also, I'd like to run HDR which the MB supports. I don't use CEC.

This isn't something I suspect many people do, which is probably why the dearth of responses. Kodi should display the video on the display defined by your OS, and it usually will show you every audio output available in the OS in the audio settings area. So as long as you can get an OS to show both HDMI ports as audio devices, it might work. You may just have to try. I can't make a recommendation on OS, but some quick internet searching shows people doing something similar on Windows. Not with Kodi, but at least the OS seems to do it.

No optical out. I'll try with Libreelec which is a stripped Linux version. I'd like to keep away from Windows if at all possible.

You probably won't be able to do what you want with LibreElec alone. I'd recommend a stripped down Debian installation that gives you necessary access. Gui or cmdline pulse config will let it work... I think. Not something I've ever tried.
