Hi I've been using MariaDB for multiple instances for several releases now.
I set it up using the instructions at https://kodi.wiki/view/MySQL/Setting_up_MySQL and I have noticed that new versions of Kodi automatically migrate the database schema whenever they are updated and need it.
I just got the v20 beta on my 2 android boxes but both instances don't seem to be pulling the info from the central database anymore. 
Does Kodi v20 require a different setup in advancedsettings.xml?

Not that I'm aware of. Share your (debug-enabled) kodi.log file via a pastebin site, and perhaps we'll see what happens.
Are you sure that the Kodi database user has full rights?
