Widget shows folder icon instead of artwork for TV series
#1
Hi, I have Kodi installed on odroid N2 (coreelec latest build) and have a samba share from my NAS containing TV series that I display as a widget on my home screen. The TV series are all named using the typical Kodi naming convention (e.g. Family guy (1999)) yet the icons on the widget are folder icons instead of artwork. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Thanks in advance

Which skin are you using, and are the tv shows scraped into your library?

I'm using Arctic Horizon skin. It's fairly old, could this be responsible? As for whether the shows are scraped into the library, how can I check this? I have artwork dump installed so I think so

Then, your report is a skin issue. Best to ask in the correct thread... https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=351756

No problems, I'll move the post onto the skins forum.

As for adding the sources, I added the samba share folder using file manager rather than using the technique described in the link. Will that make a difference?

Yes, definitely.
Widgets are a library feature which means they need to be scanned/scraped into the library.
Adding a Source to the File Manager does not allow that to happen. You would never be able to access those windows that are required to set up the library.

Follow the guide in that link and see how it works for you.

Ok thanks. My AH skin doesn't have the videos menu option so I might need to do a bit of exploring. I'm sure I'll work it out, thanks again for you advice

You can access the Sources pages from Settings>Media>Library... https://kodi.wiki/view/Settings/Media/Library
Or switch back to Estuary.
