Android Suddenly, NO version of Kodi will play DVD folders on Fire TV!
#1
Question
I had been watching various DVD folders with Kodi 20.2 without any problems until suddenly Kodi failed to play any of them! Kodi would play the intro page but once you selected a title, the dealie would spin for two seconds and then nothing else would happen. I tried clearing the cache several times, and when that didn't help, I cleared the data and cache then uninstalled Kodi using ADBlink. When uninstalling then re-installing it from scratch didn't help, I tried Kodi v20.1 but had the same problem. So I tried v19.5, but the exact same problem remained!

I tried physically power-cycling my Gen 2 Fire TV to see if it helped, but it didn't. Singular files such as mp4s play fine, it's just DVD folders that will not play. (Obviously I tried multiple different folders).

This is extremely disturbing! I have a huge collection of DVD folders that I want to watch! What can I do, please? HELP!

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

Thank you enormously for your reply! I didn't know which of the debug options to enable, so I enabled them all.

Pasted at: Kodi Debug Logs

What I see when I try to play the VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.IFO is an infinite circle on the lower right and also the line of text with the name VIDEO_TS.IFO flashes black and yellow.

I am very grateful for your time!

It is only a log of the startup and I don't see you playing any DVD's. Did you post the correct one?

I am not an Android user so I might not be able to help much, but let's see what the logs show.

I noticed that as well, even though I enabled all debug options. But note what I wrote in my previous post, where I saw an infinite circle and the flashing filename. Therefore, it never started playing and I had to go to the main Fire TV App settings and forcibly stop Kodi before I could go back into Kodi to upload the log. That's why you don't see anything actually playing.

ETA: By the way, I haven't changed any of the DVD folders I've tried. They all used to work perfectly with earlier versions.
