I have put together a Kodi system using a Raspberry Pi and a touch screen display for my sailboat.  I have just started loading my DVDs onto and external USB drive and gave it a try tonight.  Worked like a charm with an excellent image.  Then I tried to exit the playing movie to start another - and then I discovered I could not find a finger gesture that would exit the movie via the touch screen.  Does anyone know how to do this?  I am really loathed to put a mouse, keyboard or other control on the system - something else to lose on the boat.

Does the OSD not appear when you touch the screen?

That's odd. Did you try the Estouchy skin ?
