For some reason, the video from any file looks extremely saturated. Doesn't happen on VLC though. Any suggestions?

No suggestion, I can't imagine anyone will based on the (lack of) info posted.
Maybe if you could mention at least the hardware being used along with software details (versions etc) chances of anyone able to help will increase a bit.
