I am using the Sky UK OTA EPG grabber but certain channels often seem to have a 3-minute news break in the middle in the middle of films.

Is my only option to remember to record both halves of the film or is there a way to automatically have the second half picked up?

You could set a timer to record all shows with the same name, but it's less faff to just choose to record both halves.

I think I shall record both halves and just live with it.

On a separate note - I have two different profiles set up for record TV Shows and Movies.  

The default profile is the one for TV Shows.  Do you know whether it is possible to use the the Movie profile when scheduling a recording from Kodi?
