KODI 21 wont start.
#1
Hi.

Has anyone fixed the problem with starting KODI 21?

I was using 20.5 and had a message pop up telling me that KODI 21 "Stable" was now available so I upgraded and it gets stuck on "Add-on migration in progress, please wait"

I've been waiting for over and hour.

Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Something went bang in the migration process (shouldn't be more than a few minutes), perhaps a corrupt listing. I always recommend a Portable mode (wiki) installation to test out new iterations and back-up of your data library.

Updating from earlier 21 nightly did not cause any problems.

I wouldn't necessarily suspect the iteration update (I have a few and all fine), perhaps some mangled modification to the database has been caught in the update.

Do you have a Debug Log so we can check the problem?

I tried to update from 20.5 and won't start after the update.  Ended up getting the log after wards it goes to a black screen with the line across but no menus and can't do anything.  Tried installing 3 times all end up with the same problem.  I went back to Nexus.  Omega itself seams majorly flawed.

Can't help without a Debug Log

I went back to Nexus so those logs are GONE....

The same here. How can we rollback?

There is no Kodi roll back, iteration migration is fraught with issues; I always recommend a portable installation (it's just too easy to copy over the whole shebang to a safe place as back-up).

In the event of catastrophic failure, install the last known working Kodi but in Portable mode (wiki) ensure it's function with a launch from the modified shortcut (as instructed in the wiki) exit. Copy over the files in "userdata" then relaunch and see if you get lucky. Failure here, is likely to be a problem in the one of those core user-data folders. (Suspect is a corrupt library or thumbs) but could be a 3rd party app gone rouge. Should you get lucky (export your database to separate files).

Proper debug log might reveal the glitch, but if can't get into debug you'll have to use the advanced method. Log file (wiki)

Alternatively - Fresh Start: Just install the latest Kodi in portable mode and enjoy.
