OS X High CPU usage when a video is playing or paused and move to different desktop

hello everybody nice to join the forum.
I have an issue with Macbook M1 Air Sonoma running kodi 21/20/19 when a video is playing or paused and move to different desktop CPU goes to 80-90% and i can feel laptop getting hot. normally is around 20% when playing, idle is abt 4% tried apple silicon version as well as intel version 19/20/21 different skins nothing worked.

I have the same issue. Looks like there was a solution for previous releases but its happening again in the latest release.

Hey, I've same issue. I've tried several versions of Kodi for arm and also intel processors but the result is still the same. When I'm playing video CPU usage is above 60-70% and it looks a bit high to me. Nevertheless, I've found one workaround where you can use different external player, I used VLC and now the CPU usage is about 15-20%. But it would be great if there'll be some solution on that, because I still think that the CPU utilization should be a way less if you are playing 1080p video.

 - Kodi 21
 - MacBook Pro M2

This is an i9 intel mbp.  Playing 4k hdr hvec >5gigs averages 22%-40%

When I switch to another user kodi handles this poorly either with cpu spike and full speed fans, or it crashes prompting current user "ignore report restart"
