I have a recent Chromebook with Play store, its about a year old. when I play any videos on K that are HEVC they always stutter, I have read to install HEVC addon, but I have not found it. I'm able to play none HEVC videos, there has to be a way to play HEVC video file ?? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm on K 21.1

chrome os uses a virtual environment to run android apps
running kodi in a virtual environment is not supported

your inability to play hevc is directly due to the lack of hardware acceleration in that virtual environment
currently there are no kodi releases for chrome os that would run directly without a virtual environment

so it wouldn't even work if you cannibalize the OS and get kodi to run natively due to low quality hardware ...
