Hi,
Kodi does not show the "start before" and "start after" TVHeadend settings in auto-recordings created from the EPG. It seems to derive the actual values from the start time and duration. This makes it impossible to scan a time window larger than the duration of the recorded show on the EPG. It is much less flexible than showing both settings. Please show "start before" / "start after".

That’s not correct. Padding times for start and stop as defined in kodi pvr settings are taken into account by kodi when creating an autorec.
Can you please proof what you are saying by providing screenshots from both the tvh GUI and the timer rule settings in kodi?

What you are looking for is labelled „start padding time“ and „end padding time“ in kodi timer settings.
No idea why this is 0 for you as default for both is 5 mins.
Can you post a screenshot of kodi PVR settings, Recordings page. There, the defaults for start snd stop padding times are defined.

Alright, what you want to achieve is possible, but i have to admit actually not obvious.
There is an addon setting, on the Timer page. There, you can set start time calculation method to relaxed
In the timer rule settings, then the setting labelled end time is handled as time span relative to start time.

Renaming would make sense for tvheadend, but not for other backends supported by kodis generic GUI. Such things are often a tradeoff.

I recently added support for backend specific timer settings to PVR core. I can at some time have a look whether this can help to improve the tvheadend kodi integration. But no promises.
