Audio Issue with AM6B+
#1
Hi Everyone,

Ugoos AM6B Plus, CoreELEC 21.1

I have my Headphones connected to the SPDIF Output and watch TV via the HDMI.

When I select the SPDIF Output, some videos like this one:

Code:
Audio
ID                                       : 2
Format                                   : E-AC-3 JOC
Format/Info                              : Enhanced AC-3 with Joint Object Coding
Commercial name                          : Dolby Digital Plus with Dolby Atmos
Codec ID                                 : A_EAC3
Duration                                 : 37 min 58 s
Bit rate mode                            : Constant
Bit rate                                 : 768 kb/s
Channel(s)                               : 6 channels
Channel layout                           : L R C LFE Ls Rs
Sampling rate                            : 48.0 kHz
Frame rate                               : 31.250 FPS (1536 SPF)
Compression mode                         : Lossy
Stream size                              : 209 MiB (3%)
Language                                 : English
Service kind                             : Complete Main
Default                                  : Yes
Forced                                   : No
Complexity index                         : 16
Number of dynamic objects                : 15
Bed channel count                        : 1 channel
Bed channel configuration                : LFE

Will have audio from both the SPDIF and the HDMI. Why? I didn’t even think it was possible to have audio via both at the same time!
Here are my Audio Setting for using the SPDIF Output:

Here is the debug file when playing the video above.

try this https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/mute-hd...-spdif/705

(with appropriate adjustment to match your hardware)

Thanks, I will take a look at that.

However, surely there has to be something wrong somewhere if I only get this with some videos?  90% of the videos don't have this issue.

EDIT:  This is interesting.

Setting the SPDIF as the output and before playing the video.

Code:
Ugoos:~ # amixer get 'Audio hdmi-out mute'
Simple mixer control 'Audio hdmi-out mute',0
  Capabilities: pswitch pswitch-joined
  Playback channels: Mono
  Mono: Playback [on]

After starting to play the video.

Code:
Ugoos:~ # amixer get 'Audio hdmi-out mute'
Simple mixer control 'Audio hdmi-out mute',0
  Capabilities: pswitch pswitch-joined
  Playback channels: Mono
  Mono: Playback [off]
Ugoos:~ #

Seems playing the video is turning OFF the muting of the HDMI output.

Coreelec is not Kodi. And this is not a paid support service where you'll get a guaranteed response in 24h.

Yeah, read the forum rules:

It has now been a couple of months and no reply.

What should my next steps be?

Header over to CoreELEC discourse forum, your question is a HW / Driver question. Kodi has no code at all to duplicate audio to two outputs, this happens internally on driver level or even HW level.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
