I want to try deleting the guisettings.xml to see if that makes a difference but I cannot find where it is.

Thanks for the reply. There was nothing in that directory. I tried to deleting the directory but it didn't make a difference.

I think it ended up being a hard drive error. Scan disk reported and fixed some errors. Kodi appears to start now. Thanks for the reply.
