Hi

I'm having some troubles setting up my remote to work with XBMC when using an external videoplayer. In my case this is MPC-HC.

My setup in Asrock 330HT ION with Windows 7 installed on it. On this installation i have XBMC installled and using MPC-HC as videoplayer.

The problem is i can't quite make my remote do what its supposed to do. I can navigate in XBMC and start my movies, i can also stop them. But when i stop them MPC doesn't close and i dont get returned to XBMC. This is the biggist issue. Anyone know how to fix this?

The only buttons which are working are mute, volume and stop (but doesnt return me). It would be nice if I could also use pause and play buttons. The remote im using is the standart which comes with the 330HT (http://www.asrock.com/nettop/overview.asp?Model=ION 330HT)

You need the showkey.exe from the link below download mceremote.zip, then your know what keys are pressed once you know that in MPC-HC go into options > keys and set the keys needed you can set keys and app commands

Don't map the stop button to stop map it to exit then when you press stop it will take you back to XBMC

BTW you can use the "Remote-XBMC.reg" (read the readme) file in that zip with your asrock and then your remote will work perfectly in XBMC but if you use that then do it before you configure MPC-HC as keys will change also I think X is exit in MPC-HC so stop should work then in MPC-HC as exit

Any reason your using MPC-HC when you can use XBMC and hardware acceleration ?

I found out that xmbc can't play 1080p movies on my setup. But MPC-HC can..

Do i have to turn on hardware acceleration somewhere?

It would be nice not to have to fiddle around with external players.

You need to use one of the nightly builds in order to use DXVA which is what MPC-HC uses I'm not sure what the best build is but you can ask in the thread below

Alternatively you can use the DSPlayer branch of XBMC I've been using this on an Asrock for ages, but if your just starting out with XBMC your probably best off using the first option
