i put those font that downloaded from mplayer.hu,it does show up in selection list,but when i select it,my chinese subtitle still look messy.

as far as i noticed,this function works fine with those default font that come with xbmc,i can tell from the change of the font,but once i selected the font i added,it just keep using the last default xbmc font i selected,i also tried korea and greek and other several chinese fonts,ended up in same reuslt.

and i even tried replace those default font files with chinese font files,such as mplayer/font/arial-cp1250/24/,i delete all files in this folder,and copy chinese fonts into it,and select this font,and now xbmc seems play movie with this font,now all my chinese charater in subtitles appear as a straight line........

anyone had their asia font working right?

someone said "he made it works to show chinese with no problem", but i have the same problme as yours.

what i think the problem is, the xbmc is not support chinese, therefore even your put big5 font into mplayer folder, and select subtitle font as "big5", it still won't decode.

that's why i am thinking that it might need another big5 font in media folder inorder to decode big5.
