don't know whether they're related:

1. after boosting the audio amplification to 10/60 db and reboot, could not change it back to 0/60 without deleting settings.xml in tdata;

2. subtitles no longer display; seems to happen after i disable/enable it a few times on a movie that has no subtitles.
